2018 model of Travel-Lite’s Idea i18 represents the class of medium-size travel trailers; with its dry weight slightly over 3,200 lbs it can be towed by most SUVs and trucks…

Construction
Travel-Lite does not provide construction details for their RVs. From the little what is published, it seems that the company is committed to traditional design where wood (and its byproducts like plywood) play essential role. The shell’s frame is made from solid wood 2 x 2’s and 2 x 4’s (sidewalls) and 3.5” wood bow truss rafters (roof). The double plywood sheets make the floor. While traditional wood has its undisputed advantages, it has also fundamental downsides when it come to RVs. And this is potential for rot, mildew and accelerated degradation with time. It’s true that wooden construction offers strength and flexibility as well as easy repair process (if needed). It may even have an appeal due to our traditional love for wood and “warm sentiments” for technology of the “old-good-times”, but in the long run it may prove not that beneficial.
Travel-Lite Idea i18
Interior with optional jackknife sofa instead of traditional dinette
Interior finish: Concord Cherry
New finish is quite "colder" compared to Concord Cherry wood
Interior ambiance created by cabinetry finished in Concord Cherry wood (or wood-like) is a totally different story. Indeed, this gives the i18 is high-end, residential-like feel, greatly contributing to sort of warmness and relaxing atmosphere….
Polar Package:
The Idea i18 travel trailer comes with a standard 5kBTU A/C unit and 18k BTU furnace. With shell’s sidewalls typical thermal barrier equivalent to R-7 (floor has higher although not clearly defined value of the thermal insulation), the camper certainly does not belong to all-weather models. However especially when equipped with the optional Polar Package it can be used over extended seasons in moderately cold areas. Do not be misled – the name “Polar Package” with its dual-pane windows, full thermal-foil wrap and heating pads for all water tanks will not allow for venturing into deep freezing (polar) climate zones.
