Summarizing: Venture’s Sonic travel trailers are certainly leading examples of lightweight RVs. Given their construction characteristics, technical parameters (weight and length) as well as features, they stand high among other this category models of RVs.
Obviously, “Lightweight” design has its limitations. Some goals can be achieved thanks to lighter, modern construction materials, their higher strength (so smaller profiles) etc. But some you have to trade-off, and these are usually features as each one may make the RV more residential-like, but the price you pay for it is the increased RV’s weight. That’s why several manufacturers offer many features as options, so it is up to customers to decide (trade-off) level of comfort with weight. And the weight directly translates into towing capabilities of your vehicles and by that – potentially forcing you to buy the new, more powerful vehicle that otherwise you may not need at all.
